LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On Wednesday at 10:30am, Caryville Fire Chief Eddie Hatmaker, La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack and Jacksboro Fire Chief Jason Shetterly activated their town’s emergency warning sirens as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. It was only a test.

Sun., Feb. 20 through Sat., Feb. 26 is Tennessee Severe Weather Awareness Week. In observance and in preparation, the Towns of Caryville and Jacksboro and the City of La Follette tested their emergency warning sirens on Wednesday morning. The tests lasted for three minutes. This was to ensure the proper operation of the siren and to familiarize you with the sound of the siren in case of an actual emergency.
