NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Senate Republican Caucus Chairman Ken Yager (R-Kingston) Wednesday announced the appointment of Molly Gormley as Press Secretary for Republican senators in the Tennessee General Assembly.  She will take the position opened by the retirement of Darlene Schlicher.

Gormley currently serves as Deputy Press Secretary for the Caucus.

“I’m very pleased to promote Molly to the position of Press Secretary for the Senate Republican Caucus,” said Chairman Yager.  “She has done a tremendous job in effectively communicating our Caucus members’ efforts to improve education and job opportunities for Tennesseans and to keep Tennessee a low-tax and well-managed state.  I’m very glad that she will continue serving our state in this new role.”

Prior to joining the 27-member Majority Caucus, Gormley worked as Executive Assistant to Representative John Ragan and was an intern for Lt. Governor Randy McNally.

A Maryville, Tennessee native, Gormley graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville with a degree in Political Science.

Zach Clark

Yager also announced that Zachary Clark will fill the position of Deputy Press Secretary for the Caucus.  Clark previously served as Public Information Officer to Idaho’s state health and human services agency and as a newspaper reporter covering politics, the courts, transportation and other issues in California.  He is a graduate of Lawrence University in Wisconsin.
