CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Caryville and those traveling on the interstate now have easier access to medical care since Tennova, the parent company of the LaFollette Medical Center, opened its new Primary Care Clinic on John McGhee Boulevard. A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday from 4 to 5 pm to celebrate the clinic’s opening, which officially occurred on Sept. 7.
According to Tennova LaFollette Medical Center CEO Mark Cain, the clinic will fill a “community need, as well as help those traveling along the interstate in need of medical care.”
The expansion is part of Tennova’s long term strategic plan, according to President and CEO of Tennova Healthcare’s East Tennessee Market Tony Benton.
“We want to be able to provide medical access points closer to home. We want good access for primary care in the greater Knoxville area and have also opened clinics in Clinton, North Shore in Knoxville and Turkey Creek,” Benton said.
Emily Lynch, D.O. and Trevor Huckaby, N.P., are seeing patients at the new location. Dr. Lynch is from Eastern Kentucky and attended school at Lincoln Memorial University. She worked with Tennova and fell in love with the area.
“I’m excited to be in this beautiful place and to take care of the people here,” Dr. Lynch said.
Trevor Huckaby was raised in Campbell County and is a graduate of Campbell County High School. He said he couldn’t be happier to be working in his home community.
“It’s an honor to be able to serve the community I grew up in,” Huckaby said.
Tennova LaFollette Medical Center CEO Mark Cain said he was excited to have both Lynch and Huckaby on staff and excited for the expansion.
“This is to serve our family and friends, as well as anyone traveling in need of medical care. We look forward to serving the community,” Cain said.
