Valley View Elementary student Nevaeh Jones (left) and her teacher Karen Hendricks came away with cash prizes in the Farm Bureau Essay Contest.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Annually Tennessee Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee and the Agriculture in the Classroom program sponsor an essay contest to promote agriculture education. This year, congratulations go out to Nevaeh Jones, a 5th grade student at Valley View Elementary School, who won first place in the Farm Bureau 5th Grade Essay Contest.

Nevaeh’s essay won her a prize of $50 and her English Language Arts (ELA) teacher, Karen Hendricks, won $100 for the class. Nevaeh’s essay will now compete in the Farm Bureau Statewide Essay Contest where she will have the chance to win up to $300. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/19/2021-6AM)
