DUFF TN (WLAF) – While traveling north, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Preston Mullins saw a silver Lexus heading south on Highway 25W in Duff. Mullins noticed the driver of the vehicle was Bobby Ray Powers whom Mullins knew had a revoked license.

A traffic stop was conducted at State Route 90 late on Monday night, April 12. When Mullins made contact with Powers, he noticed a strong smell of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. Mullins then allegedly noticed an unopened bottle of Bud Light sitting in the passenger side floorboard, he also noticed the driver had slurred speech.

A check of his license revealed the driver’s license was revoked with one prior conviction of driving on a revoked license as well as one prior DUI conviction. Powers was given field sobriety test which he failed.
