JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) will return to 100-percent on campus training in time for the start of the summer term on May 3.

This summer term will also have funding opportunities for dual enrollment for area high school students.

The school has been on hybrid enrollment (50% online/50% in person) since March 2020 to accommodate social distancing.

According to TCAT President Debbie Petree, “the school now has enough safety measures in place to allow us to follow CDC guidelines for a full return to 100% on campus training effective with our Summer term on May 3, 2021.”

She shared some additional good news about the school’s dual enrollment program for high school students as well. “We have also been able to get permission to use a portion of our CARES Act/HEERF (stimulus) funding to provide dual enrollment opportunities for the summer term,” Petree said.

In the past, the dual enrollment grant covered fall and spring semesters but not summer. “High school students do not have funding options for summer, so we’re excited about the possibility of having high school students attend summer session without cost,” Petree said.
