LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A suspicious male in a white vehicle call on Saturday was answered by Campbell County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brandon Gross.

The vehicle was parked in a driveway on Back Valley Rd, LaFollette. When Gross arrived, he found a man who appeared to be unconscious in the driver seat of a white Volkswagen. Gross knocked on the window of the vehicle several times, but the driver did not respond. He then opened the door and pulled the man’s hood back from his head. The man opened his eyes and mumbled unintelligible words to Gross, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

When asked if he knew where he was, the man allegedly responded “downtown LaFollette.”

Gross noticed the man, who was identified as Marvin Lynn Moyers, had pinpoint pupils and slurred speech. Gross asked him if he had taken any kind of intoxicant and he responded “no.” When Moyers stepped out of the car, he was unsteady on his feet, while he talking to Gross he appeared to be nodding off and almost falling while standing next to the Volkswagon

Moyers, 36, 317 Dividing Ridge Road, Speedwell was charged with public intoxication and possession of schedule I controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/25/2021-6AM)
