NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – State Representative Dennis Powers is co-sponsoring a bill with Senator Bill Powers. It’s known as the Business Fairness Act.

“HB 855 protects small business in the event of state of emergency as occurred with the pandemic we have experienced,” said Dennis Powers. “It states that any small businesses that comply with the guidelines established to protect the public may stay open.”

“We want to make sure that we are protecting small businesses that compete with larger ones, so that they are not penalized during a state of emergency,”added Dennis Powers.
