LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – There’s another scam calling your telephone. This one is a female who is calling soliciting donations for the La Follette Rescue Squad.

“We’re not running a campaign for donations right now, and if these folks call you, it’s not us,” said LRS Chief Charles Hutson. However, if you would like to make a donation, simply call the chief at 423.562.7741.

What tipped Hutson off is that a man showed up at the firehall on Wednesday morning with a check. “He’d gotten a call from the scammers and told them that he’d just deliver his donation in person,” added Hutson.
