LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In about eight minutes, the City of LaFollette Mayor and City Council started and ended the monthly meeting.

As the council worked through the light agenda it agreed to extend the tenure of interim City Administrator Stan Foust until the end of the fiscal year. As the topic was discussed, Councilman Wayne Kitts pointed out that Foust is currently doing three jobs since he has taken on the role of interim administrator and that he should be compensated for doing so. Vice Mayor Phillip Farmer said, “He’s doing the job, he should have the pay.” The council agreed Foust will receive the city administrator salary until June 30.

A codes enforcement officer salary of $33,000 and annual pay of $30,437.20 for an animal control officer were approved. The animal control officer will now fall under the supervision of the police department.

The revised police policy manual and the opening of a new special drug enforcement account were approved.

Dispatcher Melissa Hatmaker was promoted to full time at a salary of $22,464 and Patrol Officer Anthony Mahar was promoted full time Level II Patrol Officer at a salary of $32,457.40.
