LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Gas prices sat at $1.85 a gallon for self-service regular gasoline on Christmas.

Now, two months later, the price of gasoline is up 39 cents to $2.24 compared to late last year. That means a 20 gallon fill-up costs nearly $8 more than it did in December.

On Tuesday alone, the price jumped from $2.17 on Monday to $2.24 by Tuesday afternoon. February opened 15 cents less at $2.09 a gallon.

Five years ago, in February 2016, we were paying $1.45 a gallon for gas in Campbell County. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/24/2021-6AM)
