A landing zone for a medical helicopter was set at the Coolidge First Baptist Church on Monday afternoon to fly out one patient from a truck wreck.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – An afternoon wreck sent two people to the hospital; one by air and one by ground ambulance.  At 1:30 pm Monday afternoon is when the call of a vehicle down an embankment came in to E-911 Dispatch.

Officials say that a white Dodge pick-up truck left Pleasant Ridge Road, in the 1700 block, and veered some 40-feet down an embankment.  First Responders used rope to get to the patients and to help bring them back up to the main road.

The truck came to a stop about 40-feet off Pleasant Ridge Road.

One patient was taken to the hospital by a ground ambulance while another patient was transported to the parking lot at the Coolidge First Baptist Church to meet a medical helicopter and then be flown to a Knoxville hospital.
