FLORENCE, AL (WLAF) – The nation’s top high school fishing teams recently competed in the 10th Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championships, and the Campbell County Cougar Fishing Team was among them.    On Pickwick and Wilson Lakes near Florence, Alabama, is where the impressive event was held.  Coach Gabe Keen and his Cougars continue building on their local success and now on the world stage.
Riley Faulkner and Austin Smith were in one boat while Dalton King and Jarrett Ellison were in another boat. In all, there were more than 300 boats totaling 600 anglers.  The best of the best competed for a share of $2.7 million dollars in cash and prizes and the Cougars were right there. Though the Cougars didn’t finish, it was a great showing for Campbell County High School.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/10/2019-6AM)
