LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was a packed room for the LaFollette Regional Planning Commission Thursday evening.     LaFollette Utilities, along with Upland Design, brought forth the new plans for the old Sharp and Prim building located on North Tennessee Avenue.  LUB is proposing to make the two buildings into one and using it for office space.  The Sharp building will only need to be renovated. The Prim building, however, may need more TLC.  The slab of flooring in Prim may need to be removed and repoured, and LUB is planning on making it level with the flooring of the Sharp building. This made Mark Hoskins bring up the subject of flood plains. He wanted to make sure that now that the buildings were becoming one that the flooring would be above flood plain level.  Codes officer Daniel Foster will be looking further into the issue.  There were no other issues with the proposed plan.

Howard St. John wanted to divide his property located on South 13th street into two lots. One lot will be about 4.5 acres which left the other at just under 2 acres. The motion was approved.

Finally, representatives of Eastlake Urgent Care were present. They brought forth a variance request to relocate their business from the Lowe’s shopping center to the former Community Trust Bank building at Woodson’s Mall. This motion was approved as well.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/28/2019-6AM)
