JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County High School Sophomore Jeremy Draper made the All East Men’s Choir.    He is the first person from Campbell County to achieve this honor. Draper had to go through an “intensive” audition process with the East Tennessee Vocal Association to be accepted into the Men’s Choir. As part of the choir, he performed with “the best vocalist of East Tennessee” several weeks ago at a concert at Maryville College. The annual event was held Nov. 21-23 and showcased select choir students and directors from across East Tennessee. The event usually draws crowds in the thousands.

Jeremy Draper performed with the All East Men’s Choir in November. The annual concert was held Nov. 22-23.

Draper said he has always been interested in “all areas of music.” In the seventh and eighth grade, he sang with the Jacksboro Middle School Choir and continued by joining the choir at the high school. Draper said that once at college, he plans to study music. He also said he plans to audition for the All East Mens Choir next year.

According to the East Tennessee Vocal Association, “participation in an All East Chorus is competitive and a source of great pride to students and their directors.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/19/2019-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF INA DRAPER)
