CARYVILLE, TN. (WLAF)-  A mid- afternoon truck fire at Mile Marker 130 has left traffic on I-75 South jammed.

Earlier today, a 2012 Freightliner, driven by Terrance Howard, Georgia, caught fire, according to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

He was traveling south when he noticed smoke coming from the rear of the rig. Howard was able to disconnect the truck from the burning trailer before the trailer became fully engulfed, the report said.

A review of the rig revealed the brakes on axels four and five had overheated sparking the fire. At this time, no injuries were reported.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 12/14/19 4:50 PM)
