LFD Firefighters snuff out fire in a ditch line

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- If you’re going to burn inside the City Limits of La Follette, you must have a burn permit, according to La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack.

An individual had a fire going in a ditch along North 5th Street on Thursday afternoon, and firefighters with LFD stopped over and extinguished the fire.

“The fine is in the hundreds of dollars if you burn in the City without a permit,” said the chief. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/27/2026-6AM)
