‘Tennessee is the best run state in the country’- Senator Ken Yager

State Senator Yager addressed upwards of 40 supporters under a sky of clouds and sun late Wednesday afternoon. The veteran legislator touted Tennessee’s impressive tax record of cutting taxes ten years in a row.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon, a healthy crowd turned out to greet Senator Ken Yager on the courthouse lawn.

Yager’s “Get out the vote truck tour” is in the second of three days making its way across the nine county district.

Tennessee has returned two-billion dollars to state tax payers during Yager’s tenure, according to the senator. He is pro education and is proud of the bill he sponsored that will cut taxes by $440 -million dollars for Tennessee’s small businesses.

The tour runs from Tue., July 9- Thu., July 11, spanning across Jacksboro, Lafayette, Celina, Byrdstown, Livingston, Jamestown, Huntsville, Wartburg, and Kingston.

On Thursday, Yager’s tour visits Wartburg at 9am and then wraps up the tour in his hometown of Kingston at 1:15pm.

The 12th Senate District is made up of Campbell, Clay, Fentress, Macon, Morgan, Overton, Pickett, Roane and Scott Counties. The 2024 primary election is set for August 1, with early voting from July 12-27. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/10/2024-5:30PM)
