JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- An inmate who was mistakenly released from the Campbell County Jail over 18 months ago is back in jail.

On Thursday night, Bobby Wallace, 36, LaFollette, was arrested by Jacksboro Police on a Mittimus Order out of criminal court.  A Mittimus Order is a written order that directs the sheriff or other authorized officer to take custody of someone and transport them to a specified location. For Wallace, the location was the Campbell County Jail- the place he left on Oct. 30, 2022, based court records.

In September 2019, Wallace pleaded guilty to possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to sell. The drug he pled guilty to having was Methamphetamine, according to court records.

At that time, he was given three years probation with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Wallace’s probation was violated twice due to drug related offenses, court records indicate. The third time he violated it, in July 2022, the probation was revoked, and he was jailed to serve the remainder of the sentence.

Three months later, Wallace was mistakenly released from the county jail, court records said.

On April 9, the order to pick him up was issued.

Jacksboro Police arrested Wallace in a bank parking lot on May 2. His criminal history includes criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, burglary and multiple traffic offenses, as indicated by court records.
