‘It appeared she was talking to the dumpster’- LPD Officer Dillion Marney
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A call about a female causing a disturbance sent LaFollette Police Officer Dillion Marney to Family Dollar on Tuesday around 9 pm. When Marney arrived, workers reported that Jessica Sheldon came inside the store and began yelling, then laid down on the floor and continued to yell stating that lice were crawling on her neck. A worker reported to Officer Marney that Sheldon was last seen near the store’s dumpster.
Officer Marney and Sgt. Jesse Ferguson could hear Sheldon yelling in the direction where the dumpster was located. Marney located the woman behind the dumpster who appeared to be talking to the dumpster, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department. Officer Marney began speaking with the woman and noticed that her eyes were red and glassy, she could not stay in one spot and became easily agitated.
For the safety of the woman and the officers, she was placed in the back of the patrol car due to her constantly putting her hands in her pockets and walking up to the officers in an aggressive manner.
Officer Marney spoke with the manager of the store who reported that she asked Sheldon to leave the store several times, until she finally left. While she was leaving the store, she started yelling at customers as they were walking in, getting up in their faces trying to fight them, causing a few customers to leave the store.
When Officer Marney spoke with Sheldon in the back of the patrol car and told her she was under arrest she began yelling “Please help, get me out of here they are in here.” She then began stating that bugs were crawling on her neck. According to the report, Marney did not observe any bugs on her neck. While Officer Marney was in booking with Sgt. Ferguson, they searched Sheldon’s hoodie and found a white pill bottle an empty suboxone wrapper with no prescription and an orange pill in the white pill bottle suspected to be Suboxone.
Sheldon, 38, 216 Pine Hollow Road, Jacksboro was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and possession of schedule III controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/19/2024-6AM)
