William Bill Byrge, age 86, of Nashville formerly of Caryville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Preceded in death by Mother: Martha Phillips Jones and

Step-father: Roy Jones, Father Harvey Byrge, Sisters; Naomi Wilson, Wilma Howard, Brothers: L.M. Byrge, James Byrge.

He retired from acting after having acted from the early 1980’s until the early 2000’s. He was featured in music videos ranging from Alan Jackson to Ray Stevens also taking part in commercials and the Ernest P. Worrell comedy movies such as: Ernest Scared Stupid, Ernest Goes To Jail, Ernest Saves Christmas, Ernest Goes To School, Etc. He was a loving man who adored his family and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. While acting during his life he was also employed and retired from being a librarian in the Metro Nashville Public Library. He attended Nashville First Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Sisters: Charlene Lawson, Jackie Dean, Pam Van Norstran

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, January 18 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel. Family and friends will then proceed to Beech Fork Cemetery for a Graveside and Interment Service.
