Wendell Barnes of St. Petersburg, FL, age 84, formerly of Caryville, TN passed away on March 2, 2025. He was of the Methodist faith. He was proud to have served six years with the 82nd Airborne, racking up 176 parachute jumps, He was an avid golfer, his favorite hobbies were Lead singer/Guitarist playing in Atlanta and Florida. His proudest accomplishment in life was his son Scott.

Preceded by death by parents; John and Charlene Barnes, sisters Heneritta Miller and Dodie Herron.

Survived by son; Scott Barnes and wife Kate, sisters; Eve Cappatta, Irma Adkins and husband Mike and Elezan Stair. Niece: Amanda Adkins, nephews; Todd Argimon, Sean Argimon, Chris Adkins and Eric Adkins, special friends; Ralph and Donna Copeland and George Reno.

Visitation will be on Tuesday March 11, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Campbell Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Service officiated by Rev. Toby Towney.
