La Follette man driving on a suspended driver’s license allegedly possessed Meth and Heroin

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- As David Ivey drove his car across the center line and then over the fog line on Glade Springs Road, police were watching. Ivey’s actions prompted Campbell Sheriff’s Sgt. Jackie Heatherly to conduct a traffic stop.
On Thursday evening when the sergeant stopped the car and discovered Ivey’s driver’s license was suspended, because he did not have car insurance, the report said.
Other officers arrived to assist Sgt. Heatherly; Sgt. Zack Daugherty, K-9 Mya and Deputy Brett Starrett. In no time, Mya alerted to Ivey’s car.
A search of the vehicle allegedly netted a glass pipe and a nicotine can containing a corner bag of what police suspected to be Heroin. A crystal rock-like substance was found, believed to be Meth, according to the report. Starrett located a pair of brass knockers on Ivey’s person.
Ivey, 54, of Grassy Hill Lane, La Follette was charged and arrested on multiple counts. Charges levied against Ivey include the manufacture/deliver/sell of a schedule I drug, possession/manufacture/deliver/sell of a schedule II drug meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to exercise due care, prohibited weapons and driving with license suspended/cancelled/revoked.
