Wlaf1450Campbell Cougars, Lady Cougars play at home Monday for first time in almost a month
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Come tonight, it will have been almost a month, 24 days, since the Campbell Cougars and Lady Cougars have played a home game. On Monday, on Brown Court, Campbell continues its run of five basketball games over nine days that began last Friday at Knoxville West.
The Knoxville Ambassadors visit Brown Gym beginning Monday at 4:30 with the Jayvee Cougars. The Lady Cougars game starts at six followed by the Cougars and Ambassadors at 7:30pm. The Cougars played Knoxville earlier in the season winning on Saturday, November 29, in the Claiborne County Thanksgiving by a final of 62-47.
At West, the Lady Cougars, behind 15 points from Preslee Chapman, improved to 11 & 7, 7 & 1 district, with a 50 to 38 win over the Lady Rebels. Will Croley’s 27 points were not enough for the Cougars to snap their losing streak and pick up their first district win at West as the Rebs broke open the game in the 4th quarter to win 82-65. Campbell is 4 & 17 and still in search of a district win through eight games.

Here’s how the nine day stretch of games breaks down. Campbell Basketball played at Knoxville West on Fri. Then, this week, CC hosts the Knoxville Ambassadors on Mon., Powell visits CCHS on Tue., Central plays at Campbell on Thu. and on Sat., CC plays at Huntsville against Scott. It will be a varsity affair only with Scott on Valentine’s Day as the Lady Cougars game begins at 4pm with the Cougars game to follow at 5:30pm.
