Indictment includes a third DUI charge

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- A woman responsible for a serious accident last June has been indicted on multiple charges.

April Dawn Vinsant is facing numerous charges following an investigation into the crash that occurred on the four lane in front of La Follette Monuments.

The investigation revealed Vinsant was allegedly under the influence of Marijuana when she crossed over into the oncoming lane striking an oncoming car.

As a result of the crash, the other driver was airlifted for medical treatment.

Vinsant has two prior DUIs, according to court records. She was convicted in 2016 and 2020 for DUI.

A Campbell County Grand Jury returned an indictment that included aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, reckless aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, third offense DUI, driving while license revoked due to conviction of DUI and casual exchange.  

She remains in jail on a $150,000 bond. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 5/31/2024- 6AM)
