Set for Saturday, November 8, 2pm, in La Follette

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Veterans day is designed to honor all veterans. La Follette and Campbell County have a long history of recognizing and thanking members of our military who have served our nation. On Saturday, November 8, the community will again honor veterans with a downtown parade.
Joining the parade this year will be the award-winning Campbell County High School Mighty Cougar Marching Band as they march down Central Avenue. Also joining in the parade will be members of the CCHS JROTC program who will serve as the Honor Guard carrying our nations colors. The Honor Guard will be honoring those veterans who have gone on before by parading the banners of our local heroes. When the Cadets reach 1st Street at stop light 8, the parade will pause and a 21-gun salute will be fired. Taps will play as a special salute for those veterans who are no longer with us.

Vintage cars from the L A Cruisers Car Club will roll through the parade as will beautiful Corvettes from the Knoxville Corvette Club.
Lots of military equipment from the National Guard will join the parade. The parade will pause briefly for a swearing in ceremony for our newly enlisted soldiers.
As of today, weather permitting, eight privately owned planes will perform a flyover at approximately 2:15pm, on November 8.
Floats, Jeeps, ATVs and golf carts decorated in patriotic colors will also be part of the parade.
Our local political leaders will be in the parade as they also celebrate and honor our veterans.

The parade in Downtown La Follette offers something for everyone on to honor our veterans.
The best viewing location is along Central Avenue in Downtown near 1st Street (stop light 8).
We’ll see you on Saturday, November 8. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/24/2025-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
