WALNUT MOUNTAIN, TN (WLAF) – Theft has crippled La Follette Rescue Squad communication.

Over the past few days, someone broke into the building, the radio shack, on top of Walnut Mountain and stole the La Follette Rescue Squad repeater.

This malicious act damaged the building and has shut down the LRS’s primary communication capabilities.

“The repeater is valued in excess of $3,000, but it may be weeks or months before a replacement is available,” said LRS Chief Charles Hutson.
