Two accidents almost simultaneously; South Avenue at the four lane and near Hunters Branch

This stuck truck closed down South Avenue.
These two vehicles collided Thursday afternoon.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Around 1pm Thursday, an 18-wheeler bottomed out while two cars wrecked with the incidents about a mile apart.

A big rig hauling two new pontoon boats attempted to make the turn from the four lane onto South Avenue at the Gamble Motors corner. The rig bottomed out and could not move.

As a result South Avenue was closed to traffic at West Chestnut Street.

About a mile west of that mishap, two cars bumped on the La Follette bound side of the four lane across from the Krome Salon. There were no injuries. However, traffic was down to one lane in each direction as traffic from the South Avenue stuck truck was coming off West Chestnut Street entering into the four lane congestion.
