First on the scene were deputies from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office after this truck knocked down a pole on Carr Wynn Road.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Not long after 3:30 Friday afternoon, this Chevy Silverado pick-up truck (above) literally cut an LUB power pole off at its knees on Carr Wynn Road, almost to McKinney Road. WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares more photos HERE.

The driver was the lone occupant of the truck that was headed south toward Davis Chapel Road.

An LUB lineman begins the long process of replacing this power pole.

With active power lines draped across Carr Wynn Road, the Campbell County EMS Unit was forced to go back around and enter from the McKinney Road side of the mishap. The driver was transported to the La Follette Medical Center where a medical helicopter was ready to transport the patient on to a Knoxville hospital.

CCSO deputies were on scene within just a few minutes.

The downing of the power pole knocked out service to nearly 600 LUB customers. Power was restored to all but a few customers by 4:45pm Friday.

Aside from the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, Sheriff’s Office and EMS, the THP and LUB also responded to the scene. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/07/2023-4PM-PHOTOTS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
