The full load of plastics on the overturned truck had to be unloaded and loaded onto the replacement truck in this photo.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- An 18-wheeler, flat bed truck, loaded with plastics headed to Dixie Concrete on Old Jacksboro Pike, overturned on its way there on Tuesday morning. The rig flipped on its side as it attempted to navigate the bend in the road just off the four lane across from Old Woodson’s/former IGA.

It was slow treading for the clean up stage of the Tuesday morning wreck.

As a result, that section of OJP was closed off and remained closed until well up into the afternoon. No one was injured in the mishap that occurred just before 8am.

This is one of two huge wreckers that was called in to clear the scene.

The driver of the big rig, from Mississippi, told WLAF News that he was “really shaken up and also really mad”. He had to kick out one of the two sections of the truck’s windshield to free himself from the red cab.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

This section of Old Jacksboro Pike was closed for most of Tuesday.
