JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On Wednesday afternoon, the Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met for the monthly meeting with five items on the agenda.

First on the agenda was accepting the resignation of Melisa Phillips as a full-time police officer. Phillips will move to an auxiliary officer at an hourly rate of $17. Next was the hiring of Kris Gulliver as a full-time police officer at an hourly rate of $18.20.

The board approved sending Elaine Morton to the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS)  Conference on Aug. 13 and 14. The town will pay all her expenses.

Resolution 369 amending the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.

The board approved $3,000 to start preparing for the upcoming fall festival. The money will be used for a band, decorations, renting blow-ups for children to play on and other related festival expenses. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/04/2024-6AM)
