TJ Rutherford age 81 of Habersham, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 26, 2024, peacefully at his home in Habersham surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on June 19, 1943, in Habersham to the Late Ernest Rutherford and Ruby (Hatmaker) Rutherford. TJ retired from K-25, was an Army Veteran, a member of New Freedom Baptist Church, and a member of the L.A. Cruisers. He also enjoyed antique cars and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Christopher Hammond; granddaughter Natasha Hope Hammond; great grandsons Banks and Baker Simpson; two infant sisters and sister Mildred Massengill.

TJ is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Doris Rutherford of Duff; son Michael Rutherford and wife Jennifer of Duff; daughters Tammy Allen of Jacksboro; Michelle Rutherford of Sevierville; and Linda Fraze of Habersham; special son-in-law Michael Hunt of Alabama; brother Harold Dean Rutherford and wife Mary of Habersham; sister Brenda Hamilton of LaFollette; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Adam Gulley and Rev. Kenny Allen officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for a 2:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Wade Walls officiating. Military Honors to be given by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
