Timothy Mefford, age 69, of LaFollette

Timothy Mefford, age 69, of LaFollette, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Tennova Health and Rehab Center in LaFollette. He was born on April 4, 1956, to the late George and Marie Messor Mefford in Caryville, Tennessee. Tim was a clever man who loved song and poetry. He was the preacher at Lake City Church of Christ for many years, and at his best, he brought a great deal of comfort to folks as well as a good, hearty laugh. He will be remembered as a colorful thread in the tapestry of life for all who met him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Joshua; sisters: Geraldine, Nona, Dorothy, and Sarah, along with two infant sisters; and his brother, Phillip.

He is survived by his son, Joel; grandchildren: Tristy, Miranda, Luke, and Dakota; and a host of other nieces and nephews, family members, and friends.
