LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Today is a look back to the early 1960s and a section of North Tennessee Avenue near Tank Springs. This image was taken before Urban Renewal came to Lafollette in the late 1960s.
This camera shot was taken in front of Tank Springs looking toward town. Notice the mail boxes to left edge of the image, because at one time there were several houses at Tank Springs.
Between the mail boxes and the trailer, you can see a section North Indiana Avenue located across the creek. Everything on the left side of the road was located on the edge of the creek bank.
Looking just beyond the trailer was a fruit stand. Today, this is the area where Lobertini Bridge crosses the creek. In the distance where the two billboards stand, today this is the location of Lafollette’s R V Park. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/21/2025-6AM)Â
