Checkpoint begins after sunset

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints around the region during the month of February, and a checkpoint is scheduled for Campbell County, namely La Follette, on Friday, February 20, around dusk.
On Friday night, February 20, THP and other law enforcement units will stage on Demory Road at the White Bridge and Lonas Young Park.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints on the following dates and locations in February, 2026:
- February 6, 2026 Knox Co – Cherokee Trail @ Cherokee Bluff Drive
- February 20, 2026 Knox Co – Mascot Road @ McBee Lane
- February 20, 2026 Loudon Co – US 70 @ US 321
- February 6, 2026 Anderson – US 441 (Norris Freeway) @ Island Home Baptist Church
- February 20, 2026 Campbell – Demory Road @ White Bridge
- February 27, 2026 Sevier – SR 139 @ Amanda Lane
- February 13, 2026 Blount – SR 333 Miser Station Road (.2 Miles E) of Quarry Road
- February 21, 2026 Knox – SR 168 (Gov John Sevier Hwy) @ French Road
Troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who are driving impaired/driving under the influence in the State of Tennessee. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found Sobriety Checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing DUI laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protections of all motorists.
Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others every year in the United States. Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.
