DUFF, TN (WLAF) – A Campbell County man has died while another is mending following a head on collision between the two men’s trucks on Friday afternoon.
Officials said Bill Baird, 64, of La Follette, did not survive the crash when his 1992 Toyota Tacoma was struck by another truck in the 400 block of Stinking Creek Road. It was 5:37pm Friday when the mishap was received by central dispatch.
Baird was traveling east, toward Hwy 25W, on Stinking Creek Road. A 1997 Dodge 1500, driven by 29- yea-r old Joshua Hill, was heading west on Stinking Creek Road. The Dodge crossed into the other lane of travel striking the Toyota, according to the preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The report states that both trucks came to an uncontrolled rest in the middle of the road not far off State Route 9/Hwy 25W. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/09/2023-5PM)
