Charges are pending against the driver of a pick-up truck and passenger in Sunday crash
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Tennessee Highway Patrol sheds little light in its preliminary report from a Sunday afternoon single-vehicle wreck that sent all four occupants to the hospital.
At 4:56pm, Sunday, a 1988 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck was traveling west on Middlesboro Road when it failed to maintain its lane of travel crossing the center dividing line, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The report said the truck ran off the left, north, side of the roadway and down an embankment striking a standing tree where the truck came to an uncontrolled rest.
Douglas Davis, Jr., 57, of Tennessee, was driving the pick-up with 27-year old Audra Burlew of Michigan as his front seat passenger in the cab. Charges are pending against both. Neither was wearing a seat belt. Not stated, but inferred, is that 19-year old Malik Golston of Tennessee and a juvenile from Tennessee were riding in the bed of the pick-up not wearing seat belts. All four were injured and transported to a hospital.
