Mr. Thomas Alva Slover, Jr., age 66 of LaFollette, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who had received a Purple Heart while serving as a Helicopter Pilot, and was also an accomplished artist and musician. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Alva Slover, Sr., and his uncle, Jack Slover.
He is survived by mother, Ellen Louise (Bolton) Slover; son, Stephen Thomas Slover; daughter, Molly Daniels (David); grandchildren, Harley and Tommy Daniels; brother, Keith Slover (Debbie); sister, Dawna Cecil; nieces, Kortni, Toni, and Kylie; several other extended family members and friends.
A private family gathering will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025. In Mr. Slover’s spirit of giving, he made the selfless decision to be donated to the University of Tennessee Anthropology Department so that he may help others along their educational journey. I feel honored to have met and know him. In the short time I’ve spent with him I really learned a lot. He really loved his family. He will deeply be missed.
