LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – These are Lafollette’s firemen and Mayor R.C. “Curt” Alley in 1973 along with City Councilman Ike Peters. The image was made on First Street which at the time was the only fire station in Lafollette.

The unit in the background is the 1964 American Lafrance open top fire engine. The photo also shows the old shirt factory building housing Tennessee Leather Product.

Otney Wilson was fire chief, and a few years later Clyde Wilson would become chief. I think John Heatherly is the only person in this image that is still living. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/02/2023-6AM)
