Campbell Sheriff’s Office releases statement surrounding sheriff’s hospitalization
JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Early on Monday, WLAF News released a story that Campbell County Sheriff Wayne Barton suffered cardiac arrest Sunday night, according to one official. The sheriff’s office is not disclosing exactly what is ailing Barton only saying that the sheriff is in the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency at his home.
Citizens of Campbell County,
We want to share with you that last night Sheriff Barton has been hospitalized and is currently receiving medical care and is in stable condition. Sheriff Barton was at home when he suffered a medical emergency. During this difficult time, we ask that you keep the Sheriff and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Please be assured that the Sheriff’s Office continues to operate without interruption. Chief Deputy Cody Chapman, along with the sheriff’s office command staff and dedicated personnel, oversees day-to-day operations and ensures that all community services remain consistent and effective.
