JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Jacksboro has announced the institution’s nominations for the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Statewide Outstanding Achievement and Recognition (SOAR) Awards for the 2024-2025 academic year in the faculty, staff, and student categories.
The SOAR Awards are designed to recognize those individuals with exemplary performance in teaching (faculty), academic accomplishment (student) and professional responsibilities (staff). Candidates’ service to their institution, field, and community is heavily considered in the selection process as well.
Mr. Brian Ferguson, Machine Tool Technology faculty member and Ms. Camilla Gambrel, Dual Enrollment Coordinator have been selected as TCAT Jacksboro’s State Outstanding Achievement Rewards (SOAR) representatives this year. Also, Ms. Charley Leach was chosen as the TCAT Jacksboro student SOAR representative.
According to her instructors, Leach is “a great student†and a “hard worker who puts in extra effort.â€
The same is said of both Ferguson and Gambrill as two of the “hardest working individuals you will ever meet.â€
TCAT Jacksboro President Debbie Petree, said “on behalf of the faculty, staff, and students would like to congratulate Mr. Brian Ferguson, Machine Tool Technology faculty member and Ms. Camilla Gambrel, Dual Enrollment Coordinator as our State Outstanding Achievement Rewards (SOAR) representatives this year and also, Ms. Charley Leach who was chosen as the TCAT Jacksboro student SOAR representative.â€
“Camilla and Brian are outstanding examples of TCAT Jacksboro staff and faculty. They put students first which has earned them the respect of students and coworkers,†Petree said.
They will compete in regional competitions with other East Tennessee TCAT campus winners in November.
