LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday evening, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Jacksboro (TCAT) recognized its National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) students. TCAT Jacksboro students were inducted into the NTHS during the ceremony at the La Follette Methodist Church.

“The purpose of the National Technical Honor Society is to promote student excellence and leadership in career and technical education and to recognize educational achievements. What makes tonight’s honorees different is that they set and achieve goals and overcome obstacles on their way to success,” said Chandy Rogers. Rogers is in her 10th year as TCAT’s NTHS Advisor and serves as the college’s Administrative Office Technology and Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Instructor.

TCAT President Dr. Debbie Petree, a CTE student herself in high school, is in her 16th year at TCAT. “I am so fortunate that I get to work with CTE students each day,” said Petree.

Petree shared what she calls “Debbie’s three keys to success”. They are develop a strong work ethic, surround yourself with good people and be ready to adapt to change while growing in your opportunities.
