Sylvania Sexton, age 88

Sylvania Sexton, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday November 1, 2025. She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Frank and Edna Bell Wright Lay; brothers, Luther Lay, Esaw Lay, and Ovie Lay; sisters, Mildred Bolton, Christine Lay, and Lucy Lay.

Sylvania is survived by her daughters, Lora Hale and Sharon Slover; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild; and the father of her children, Bufford Sexton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 6, 2025 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Lucas Day and Bro. Gilbert Lay officiating. The family will meet on Friday November 7, 2025 at 10 AM at the Allred Cemetery in Pioneer for interment.
