JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Board of Education members honored students achieving high test scores at Tuesday evening’s meeting.

“It is my great privilege to recognize an exemptional group of students who have achieved something truly remarkable,” said Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields.

Several “outstanding” students scored a perfect score on their TCAP and portions of the ACT tests.

“This accomplishment speaks to their dedication, intelligence and hard work, as well as the support and encouragement they receive from their teachers, families and friends,” Director Fields said.

Perfect scores on the Math TCAP include Jacksboro Elementary School fifth graders Zane Carroll, Abigail Sampieri, and Vivien Stooksbury. Lacie Hatmaker is a seventh grader at Jacksboro Middle School and had a perfect score for a second straight year. LaFollette Elementary School had two perfect Math TCAP scores with Abigail Ford and Layla Hatmaker. White Oak’s Cooper Clabo also had a perfect Math score.

Two Campbell County High School students scored perfect on a portion of the ACT. Joann Begley scored 36 in science, while Braidin Ivey scored a 36 in English.

“We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and excited to see all the amazing things you will do in the future. Keep reaching for excellence and know that you have the full support and admiration of this entire community,” Fields said.

She also reported that 51-percent of Campbell County High School students had “raised their ACT scores from the previous exam.”

Several CCHS students achieved ACT scores of 30 or higher in various sections of the exam.

High scores in Reading include Joann Begley, Annastazja Casey, Bailey Minton (33), Dylan Overbay, Braidin Ivey, Laura Walden, and Joshua Skeans.

High scores in STEM include Joann Begley (32),and  Luke Browning.

High scores in Science included Joann Begley, Luke Browning,  and Keagon Cowan.

High scores in English were Braidin Ivey with a perfect score, Eden Elkins (35) Alyssa Fugate, Brenna Hall, Bailey Minton, Dylan Overbay, and Joshua Skeans.

Director Fields also reported that CCHS students in the Career and Technical Education Program had earned 156 industry certifications this year and that the CCHS Welding Team “shined” at the annual TCAT Welding Rodeo, with Jackson Stanfill earning 1st place in the TIG Welding competition and Paige Chambers taking 2nd place in MIG Welding.
