LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Patchy morning fog and low clouds will give way to mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies by midday or so as high pressure builds in aloft. Subsequently, expect dry and warm conditions for Campbell County and much of the area today as highs warm to the lower 80s. The dry spell will be short lived however, as the next round of showers and thunderstorms return tomorrow, with wet conditions lasting into the weekend.
On Friday, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, mainly late Friday afternoon through Friday night, with the main threat being damaging winds up to 60 mph. Also, there may be a localized flood threat Friday night and continuing into Saturday.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday and Saturday night with a slight chance of rain on Sunday.
We will also be watching for any potential severe threats associated with a cold front around next Wednesday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/16/2024-6AM)
