CARYVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)— State Representative Dennis Powers will present a $10,000 grant to the Campbell County Historical Society on Tuesday, June 30, at 6:00pm, at Cove Lake State Park in Caryville at the event site. The grant will support the Society’s planning for the upcoming 250th anniversary celebration at the park on July 4th.
This funding will help create a memorable and educational event honoring Campbell County’s rich history, heritage, and the contributions of generations of residents who helped build our community. The celebration will include participation from all counties in the Norris Highlands area.
“Campbell County has a proud history that deserves to be celebrated,” said Rep. Powers. “I’m pleased to support the Historical Society’s efforts to mark this important 250-year milestone. Events like this bring our community together, honor our past, and help preserve our heritage for future generations.”
The grant will assist with event programming, historical displays, educational activities, and community outreach for the July 4th celebration, which will be held from 1pm until 7pm at Cove Lake State Park. The public is invited to attend.
Rep. Powers has a long record of supporting local historical preservation, cultural events, and community organizations throughout District 36. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/30/2026-6AM)
