The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s (TDEC) Office of Outdoor Recreation awarded the grants.
“These investments will make a real difference in our communities,†Powers said. “They will create more opportunities for children and families to enjoy the outdoors while also supporting local growth and quality of life. I’m grateful to TDEC for recognizing the importance of these projects.â€
This year, the TDEC Office of Outdoor Recreation has awarded more than $22 million in Local Parks and Recreation Fund grants to 31 communities across Tennessee.
