Campbell County’s third McDonald’s is poised to open in October

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- LaFollette is only weeks away from the much anticipated McDonald’s on the corner of West Central Avenue and South 5th Street. For years, talk of the fast food chain putting down roots in LaFollette swirled. Now, thanks to Farris Properties, LLC and Rex Adams- Construction Superintendent, talk is becoming a reality.

Adams, a man who could build a McDonald’s in his sleep, is entering his 41st year in the business this week. He has been the guiding force behind the quick construction of the LaFollette location.

Giving WLAF an exclusive tour of the restaurant in the making, Hale said the eatery will feature a new “sideway” design. For the LaFollette location that means the counter will face the four lane. The sleek, modern designed building will feature a double drive through and spaces for those who placed mobile orders.

The concrete frame has been poured for the ground area with asphalt expected to come soon. Hiring for the location has started as well.

The expected open date is mid-October, according to Hale.

The counter faces West Central Avenue and looks into the dining area that will seat around 25 customers. Drive-thru customers, about 80% of McDonald’s business, will travel down the south side of the building toward town to pick up their orders.
