State Troopers describe most roads as having snow on top of ice

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- If you are warm and dry, staying put is not a bad idea. Travel is not recommended unless you just have to get out on the roads. We’re dealing with an inch to two inches of snow in Campbell County with higher totals in the upper elevations. Travel is a multi-challenge with the snow on ice, temps in the teens and single-digit wind chills all the while wind is blowing snow limiting visibility.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous travel conditions are expected through Saturday. You’ll want to slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
Saturday’s temperatures remain extremely cold and will not make it out of the teens while wind chills hold in the single-digits. We’ll see snow continue to fall and accumulate through the day diminishing to flurries Saturday night with a low of 8 and sub-zero wind chills.

The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. You’ll want to use caution while getting around outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Pets should be kept indoors as much as possible.
The WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY runs through 7pm Saturday with the COLD WEATHER ADVISORY in effect until Sunday at 1pm.
Sunday’s daytime temperatures will climb into the 20s as skies eventually give-way to sunshine. Forties for highs are ahead Monday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/31/2026-7AM-TEXT AND IMAGES COURTESY OF THE NWS MORRISTOWN)
