LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- They came to Smith ACE Hardware from Mount Paran, Carr Wynn Road and Farragut. Farragut? Yes, Farragut to buy a sled. “This was the closet store where I could get a sled today and bring it home,” said Prashant Ojha, an engineer, from Farragut.
Ojha bought a blue sled for his nine-year old son. “We have a small incline at our home for him to sled, and this will be his first time sledding,” said Ojha.
Starla Berry’s son Keaton and daughter Audrey are each getting a sled to ride during the expected weekend snowfall. “We’ll sled on a hill on Carr Wynn Road close to our home. There’ll be four or five kids sledding, and I’ll make hot chocolate. It’ll be a fun time,” said Berry.
La Follette Police Captain Charles Duff picked up sleds for his grandsons, Hayden and Bentley. “They’ll have a big time sledding near their house on Mount Paran,” said Captain Duff.
“We’ve been extra busy since Tuesday, and we’ve sold out of some items. Another truck will be here Thursday with more supplies. We have heat tape and insulation along with ice melt, in jugs and bags. There are more sleds in the warehouse, too,” said Debra Miller, co-owner of Smith ACE Hardware.
Smith Hardware is between stop lights 7 and 8 on East Central Avenue in Downtown La Follette. Store hours are 7:30am until 6:30pm Monday through Friday and 7:30am to 5:30pm Saturdays.
